14-11-23 Winter League Round 4

A new track layout this week designed by Courtney Orme and Ian Craig.

After the three qualifying rounds Karl Norris was quickest with an impressive 41 laps. It was close for the remaining places with Adam Hancock, Benn Norris, Chelle Snowden, Freddie Parker, Bob Harley and Kayleigh Knight all achieving 39 laps.

Finals

Steven Myall won the “D” Final after a good race with Kevin Flamson who finished in second place, Emma Dutton was third.

Josh Freeman lapped everyone else to win the “C” Final with 35 laps, Caleb Jones was second on 34 laps and Darren Holyland third with 33 laps.

Gavin Rice was the winner of the “B” Final with 38 laps, Alfie Hart and Mike Simpson were second and third, both on 36 laps.

In the “A” Final, for the second week running the drivers finished in their start order, the winner being Karl Norris with 40 laps.

Adam Hancock was second and Benn Norris third, both with 39 laps. Chelle Snowden, Freddie Parker and Bob Harley were fourth, Fifth and sixth, all with 38 laps.

07-11-23 Winter League Round 3

Another James Hart design track layout this week.

It was very close in the qualifying as usual with Karl Norris, Simon Pole and Justin Heath getting 41 laps followed by Richard Norris, Adam Hancock, Benn Norris and Kayleigh Knight on 40 laps.

Ian Craig had a good drive to win the “E” Final being three laps ahead of pole position driver Kevin Flamson, with Robert Dutton taking third place.

Darren Holyland won the “D” Final ahead of Caleb Jones and Alex Forster who finished second and third, all three drivers being on the same lap. A good start for new member Richard Johnston in taking fourth place in his first race a Burton.

Another good race for Alfie Hart who won the “C” Final being just over two seconds ahead of Gavin Rice in second place with Mike Simpson finishing third.

The “B” Final was won by Benn Norris with Kayleigh Knight taking second place and Dan Stones third.

Another tremendous “A” Final with the drivers finishing in their starting grid order with just four seconds separating the first three drivers. Karl Norris was the winner, Simon Pole second, Justin Heath third, Richard Norris fourth, all with 40 laps and Adam Hancock fifth with 39.

31-10-23 Winter League Round 2

A James Hart track design this week with twenty four drivers racing.

Karl Norris was top qualifier with visiting drivers Peter Stockton and Daniel Mountford toking second and third places. Kayleigh Knight was fourth, Dan Stones fifth and Chelle Snowden sixth, these making up the “A” Final.

Finals

Steven Myall won the “D” Final with 25 laps, Kevin Flamson was second on the same lap, being four laps clear of Robert Dutton who finished third.

The “C” Final was close with Ian Whiston winning being three and a half seconds ahead of Josh Freeman in second place, both drivers having 32 Laps, Mike Simpson took third place being a lap down.

The “B” Final was an incredibly race to watch with five of the six drivers finishing on the same lap. Benn Norris started from pole position in the race but after a thrilling battle with Freddie Parker, Alfie Hart, Gavin Rice and Guy Rogers it was Freddie who crossed the finishing line first to win and also set the quickest lap time. Alfie Hart was just half a second adrift in second place, Gavin Rice was third, Benn Norris fourth and Guy Rogers fifth with Bob Harley sixth. A great race, it was good to see such good performances from Club junior members Freddie and Alfie.

Just the “A” Final to go where Karl Norris was the winner with 37 laps, Daniel Mountford took second place on 36 laps with Peter Stockton just a second behind. A good drive from Chelle Snowden secured her fourth place on 35 laps, Kayleigh Knight was fifth with 34 laps and Dan stones sixth on 32.

Another excellent evenings racing, may thanks to Chris Snowden on race control and everybody who helped to set up and pack away all the equipment.

24-10-23 Winter League R1

A Simon Pole design track layout again this week which produced some great racing.

Karl Norris was top qualifier with visiting driver Peter Stockton taking second place, both drivers with 40 laps. Simon Pole was third with 39, Benn Norris, Dan Stones and Kayleigh Knight being fourth, fifth and sixth, all with 38 laps. A great performance also by Alfie Hart to take seventh place, being the highest placed Junior member.

Finals

First up was the “D” Final, Kevin Flamson set the fastest lap in the race but consistent driving by Steven Myall won him the race with Kevin finishing in second place and Ian Craig third.

Ethan Wardle made it a good start for “Team Norris” by winning the “C” Final, Darren Holyland was second and Will Lacey third.

Alfie Hart won the “B” Final from pole position with Freddie Parker also having a great drive to take second place ahead of Nick Wallace who finished third.

The last race of the evening was the “A” Final which was won by Karl Norris with 40 laps. It was very close for second and third places with Peter Stockton finishing 0.37seconds ahead of Simon Pole, both on 39 laps. Ben Norris was fourth, also with 39 laps, followed by Kayleigh Knight and Dan Stones with 38. As usual a superb race to watch.

17-10-23 October Clubnight

Three qualifying rounds and a final as usual for the October Clubnight.

Karl Norris was top qualifier being just over a second quicker than Simon Pole in second place. Adam Hancock and Benn Norris took third and fourth places, both being a lap down on the leader, with Dan Stones and Kayleigh Knight taking fifth and sixth places a further lap adrift.

Finals

Ian Craig won the “D” Final from pole position with Robert Dutton taking second place ahead of Kevin Flamson.

Caleb Jones set the fastest lap in the “C” Final and won the race, with Mike Simpson finishing second and Will Lacey third.

Another good performance by Alfie Hart won him the “B” Final, also setting the quickest lap of the race. Bob Harley finished second and Josh Freeman an excellent third place.

Simon Pole won a thrilling “A” Final with Karl Norris taking second place, both drivers with 38 laps. Adam Hancock was third, also set the fastest lap and Benn Norris was fourth, both drivers on 37 laps. Dan Stones was fifth with 36 laps and Kayleigh Knight sixth on 35. A great race!!!!!

10-10-23 Superleague Round 5

The penultimate round of the 2023 Superleague with the best four from a possible six round scores to count.

The qualifying was close with four drivers achieving 37 laps.

Simon Pole was the quickest followed by Karl Norris, Adam Hancock and Kayleigh Knight. 

Finals

 Ian Craig had a runaway victory in the “E” Final with Kevin Flamson taking second place and Barry Thomas third.

 A close result in the “D” Final, the winner was Josh Freeman, Gaz de Roeck was second and Alex Forster third – all three drivers on 32 laps.

Alfie Hart had a great win in the “C” Final with 35 laps, Mike SImpson finished in second place and Caleb Jones third – both with 33 laps

Dan Stones won a very competitive “B” Final from Guy Rogers in second place and Bob Harley third – all with 36 laps and closely followed by Gavin Rice and Freddie Parker, both having 35  laps

The last race of the evening was the “A” Final which was run at a very fast pace. The Winner with 37 laps and also setting the fastest lap was Karl Norris, Adam Hancock was a close second on the same lap. Kayleigh Knight was third, Chelle Snowden fourth and Benn Norris fifth all on 36 laps with Simon Pole sixth place with 35. A good result for “Team Norris”

03-10-23 Summer League R11

The final round of the Summer 2023 League, after the three rounds of qualifying Karl Norris was quickest followed by Simon Pole, Adam Hancock, Justin Heath and Kayleigh Knight.

Finals

Kevin Flamson won the “E” Final with 26 laps, Robert Dutton was second and Emma Dutton third.

The “D” Final was very competitive with Alex Forster taking the win on 33 laps just ahead of Caleb Jones , Will Lacey was third.

Freddie Parker had a fine win in the “C” Final on 36 laps, Josh Freeman took second place with a great drive and Mike Simpson finished third.

Guy Rogers was the winner of the “B” Final with 37 laps, being eight seconds ahead of Benn Norris in second place, Dan Stones was third.

Karl Norris won an exciting “A” Final with 40 laps, the evenings track designer Simon Pole took second place, Adam Hancock was third, Justin Heath fourth and Kayleigh Knight fifth. A great race to conclude the evening.

19-09-23 Summer League R10

After the three qualifying rounds Karl Norris was quickest with 40 laps, Simon Pole and Richard Norris each had 39 laps with Chelle Snowden, Adam Hancock, Benn Norris and Guy Rogers all on 38 .

Finals

All the drivers in the “D” Final finished in the start grid order with Jacob Milne winning and Steven Myall taking second place less than two seconds behind Jacob, these two being five laps clear of third place driver Kevin Flamson.

Gaz de Roeck was on pole position for the “C” Final, it was a very close race, Caleb Jones was the winner, Gaz taking second place and Darren Holyland third. The quickest lap in the race was set by Paul Carter.

The “B” Final winner was Guy Rogers with a great drive getting 38 laps, being two laps clear of Sam Pope and Bob Harley in second and third places respectively

As expected the “A” Final was a very exciting race to watch with some great driving. The first three drivers all scored 40 Laps, Karl Norris winning, Simon Pole taking second place and Richard Norris third. Adam Hancock was fourth with 39 laps, Chelle Snowden and Benn Norris finished fifth and sixth with 38.

12-09-23 Summer League R9

Round 9 of the Summer League with Karl Norris being top qualifier, Simon Pole second, Richard Norris third and Adam Hancock in fourth place, all with 36 Laps.

The “D” Final was won by Steven Myall, Jacob Milne took second place with Kevin Flamson third.

Josh Freeman had a fine win in the “C” Final, Mike Simpson finished second and Will Lacey third.

Louis Parker was the winner of the “B” Final with Guy Rogers second, just ahead of Chelle Snowen in third place.

A very close “A” Final to complete the evenings racing. Karl Norris was the winner, Simon Pole taking second place, both being on 37 laps. Adam Hancock was third, Dan Stones fourth, Richard Norris fifth and Benn Norris sixth.

With just two more rounds in the Summer League remaining, Simon Pole leads in F1 with Guy Rogers second and Richard Norris third.

Sam Pope leads F2, Mike Simpson is second and Benn Norris third.

The F3 leader is Josh Freeman, Will Lacey is second and Kevin Flamson third. Alex Forster is the highest placed junior member.

However, with the best eight from a possible eleven round scores to count, a lot could change.
