The penultimate round of the winter league with Simon Pole being quickest in qualifying two an a half seconds better than Karl Norris in second place. Top F2 driver was Benn Norris with two laps more than Dan Stones. Adam Hancock was the best placed driver in F3 just ahead of Freddie Parker.

Adam went on to win the “C” Final, Richard Bates was second and Freddie Parker third.

Nick Wallace made a good start in the “B” Final but was eventually caught and overtaken by Benn Wallace who went on to win after a great race between these two drivers, Mike Simpson was third.

Simon Pole starting from the front of the grid in the “A” Final dropped out of contention on lap 4 after his cars bodyshell folded under, Karl Norris won the race, Chelle Snowden taking second place and Kayleigh Knight third.

Just one more round of the league to go next week!

Thanks to everyone who helped put away the equipment at the end of the evening.

18-01-22 Winter League Round 7

Qualifying

Karl Norris was quickest in the qualifying with a total of 45 laps which included several laps of less than eight seconds. Chelle Snowden was second with 43 and Kayleigh Knight third on 42 laps.

Benn Norris was the top F2 driver and Adam Hancock was best in F3.

Finals

Saul Theobold was the winner of the “C” Final being four laps ahead of Euan Lees in second place with Adam Cowell being a further three laps down in third.

Dan Stones won the “B” Final and Adam Hancock finished in second place bringing to an end Freddie Parkers tremendous run of six consecutive maximum point scores in F3 after he finished fourth with Mike Simpson taking third place.

Karl Norris won the “A” final with 44 laps, Chelle Snowden took second place and Kayleigh Knight third, both with 42 laps. Benn Norris was the top F2 driver in fifth place.

League

With seven of the nine rounds completed we have the unusual situation that two drivers Karl Norris (F1) and Freddie Parker (F3) have scored the maximum 600 points and cannot beaten in their divisions. Benn Norris (F2) has two chances to achieve the same result in the remaining rounds.

Looking forward to some great racing in rounds 8 and 9.

11-01-22 Winter League Round 6

The first of four consecutive weeks that will complete the current Winter League.

Qualifying
Chelle Snowden made a good start to be the fastest qualifier after round 1 followed by Richard Norris and Simon Pole.
Simon Pole took over top place in round 2 with Nick Wallace moving up into second position ahead of Richard Norris in third.
More changes of position after round 3 with Simon Pole still being the top qualifier, Chelle Snowden moving up into second place, Nick Wallace third and Richard Norris fourth. The remaining A final places went to Dan Stones qualifying for an A Final for the first time and Bob Harley.

Finals
Euan Lees had a comfortable win in the “C” Final, being two laps clear of second place driver Adam Cowell. Caleb Jones was third and Ian Craig fourth.

In the “B” final Freddie Parker was on pole position on the grid and made a great start, going on to set the quickest lap in the race. However after an exciting race the eventual winner was Mike Simpson, Freddie was second an Adam Hancock third.

The “A” Final was keenly contested with Simon Pole winning with 40 laps, Richard Norris was second with 39, with Bob Harley, Nick Wallace and Dan Stones taking third, fourth an fifth places respectively on 38 laps. Chelle Snowden finished in sixth place with 37 laps. Well done Dan!

In the League Simon Pole now leads F1, Bob Harley is in second place and Nick Wallace third.
Dan Stones is the leader in F2, Mike Simpson is in second place and Benn Norris third.
Freddie Parker having won all of the six rounds is the F3 League champion – can he also win the remaining three rounds? Adam Cowell is in second place and Saul Theobold third.

Remember that with three rounds remaining and only the best six from a possible nine scores to count some of the present positions may be misleading !!!!

Next week is Round 7
