Finals

First up was the Mardave final which developed into a fantastic race between Mike Simpson, Paul Galbraith and Jordan Galbraith who were evenly matched with the lead changing hands several times during the eight minute race. Jordan looked to have the race in the bag but Mike Simpson and Paul Galbraith got past him in the last thirty seconds to finish first and second respectively, all three with 45 laps. Good race!

In the GT12 C final Selina Woods extended her lead in division 3 with another maximum points, her nearest challenger was Alister Hart who finished in second place, Alwyn Hodges was third.

Some excellent racing in the B final with pole position driver Nick Bruty being chased by an “in form” Bob Harley, Nick was the eventual winner with Bob a lap down. Behind these two Scott Lewis and Rob Hambridge had a superb battle with Rob snatching third place right near the end of the race.

James Hart won the A final with some exceptional driving, setting the fastest lap time of the evening. Another great performance from Louis Parker assured him of second place with Darren Ford finishing third just ahead of Gavin Maciver. A great finish to the evening.

Nick Bruty and Selina Woods retain their unbeaten records for all three rounds of the league.

13-10-15 Autumn League Round 2

Louis Parker was fastest qualifier, also setting the fastest lap and took pole position in the GT12 A final
Another great evening for Nick Bruty taking maximum points in division 2
Selina Woods retains her unbeaten record in division 3
Mike Simpson was fastest in the club mardave class and also wins the final
Roy Matthews was the best placed division 2 driver in the final

Qualifying
A great drive in round 2 by Louis Parker earned him pole position on the grid for the A final three seconds ahead of James Hart with visiting driver Andrew Slingsby a further 0.51 seconds down.
In division 2 Nick Bruty set the pace with Nick Wallace second and Bob Harley in third place, both these drivers being a lap down on the leader.
Selina Woods was the best placed division 3 driver, her nearest rival was Alister Hart being 2 laps behind.

In the V12 mardave class Mike Simpson had a good evening being the top qualifier 1 lap ahead of Paul Galbraith. Jordan Galbraith was best in division 2.

Finals
Mike Simpson had a steady drive to win the mardave final, it was very close though with Paul Galbraith making up ground near the end of the race to finish in second place just 1.04 seconds behind. Roy Matthews put in some good laps to be the top placed division 2 driver.

The GT12 C final was fast and furious as usual, Scott Lewis was going well but a pod coming loose put him out half way through the race. This left Mike Simpson, Jordan Galbraith and Selina Woods to fight for the top three places. Mike was the eventual winner a lap clear of Jordan and Selina took third place and best in division 3 with some great driving.

All the drivers in the B final drove well and the race developed into a repeat of last weeks battle between the “two Nick’s” Nick Bruty and Nick Wallace. In the end Nick Bruty again won the day with Nick Wallace second 1 lap down. Guest driver James Sutton was third.

The last race of the evening was the GT12 A final and with Louis Parker on pole everyone was waiting to see if he could win from the front of the grid. A very exciting eight minutes of racing followed with some extremely fast lap times and it was James Hart who came out on top to win with Louis taking a fine second place and Andrew Slingsby third. Another super race – well done to all of the drivers, it made me dizzy just watching!

So after two round of the league only two drivers remain with maximum points, Nick Bruty in division 2 and Selina Woods in division 3. A good start for these two but remember it is the best eight from a possible round scores to count.

06-10-15 Autumn League Round 1

A great start to the new Autumn League with some incredibly close racing and maximum league points for James Hart, Nick Bruty and Selina Woods.

Qualifying
James Hart was the top qualifier in the GT12 class with 34 laps with Louis Parker second and Gavin Maciver third both 1 lap down.
Nick Bruty and Nick Wallace had some tremendous races in “battle of the Nick’s” during all three qualifying rounds, both drivers getting 31 laps with Nick Bruty being the victor and securing a well earned place in the A Final.
Selina Woods was the highest placed driver in division 3 followed by Courtney Orme.
Mike Simpson was top qualifier in the club V12 Mardave class, Paul Galbraith was a lap down.

Finals
The Mardave final produced one of the closest racing for several months, with Dave Tomlinson leading there was a superb race for second place between Mike Simpson, Paul Galbraith and Joshua Galbraith. During the middle of the race these three were only separated by a few inches for about fifteen laps when Mike made an error letting the other two past to eventually finish in these positions.
Paul was straight out for the next race and won the GT12 C Final by 4 laps from division 3 drivers Selina Woods in second and Courtney Orme in third place. A good start to the league for Selina with maximum points.
In the GT12 B Final in form Nick Wallace starting from pole position gradually pulled out a lead from the rest of the field with some accurate driving. Behind him Matt Popejoy and Bob Harley were fighting for second place, with a small gap between them Matt put in two great laps at the end to finish in second place with Bob third. It was also good to see the Club Chairman Rob Hambridge return to form and take fourth place just 0.45 seconds in front of Scott Lewis in another nail biting finish.
The last race was the GT12 A Final where the ultra fast and consistent James Hart had another win followed by a fine drive by Louis Parker to take second place. Gavin Maciver was third just six seconds adrift of Louis and Nick Bruty took fourth place and maximum points in division 2 – a great drive Nick!
A very exciting evenings racing – can it get any better than this!
