26-07-22 Summer League R4

A similar track design to last week again producing some quick lap times.

Qualifying
Karl Norris was the only driver to record a sub eight second lap and also took pole position in the “A” Final with 44 laps, it was close though with Richard Norris just 1.08 seconds adrift in second place. There were four drivers on 42 laps, the quickest being McKenzie Wallace followed by Adam Hancock, Dan Stones and Kayleigh Knight – all making he “A” Final.

Finals
First up was the “C” Final, Caleb Jones set the quickest lap in the race but finished in second place behind the winner Gary de Roeck, Ian Craig finished third.

In the “B” Final Benn Norris looked to have the race won, but made a slight error right near the end of the race and Nick Wallace was quick to take advantage to take the win. Leon Janyshiwskyj also had a good drive to take third place.

The last race of the evening the “A” Final did not disappoint, Karl Norris improved on his best qualifying lap time by 0.04 seconds, again being the only driver to break eight seconds. Richard Norris came close with 8.0 seconds dead!
A superb race this with just 1.14 seconds separating the two drivers at the finish, Karl winning and Richard being second. Behind these two McKenzie Wallace had a superb drive to take third place with 42 laps, Dan Stones was fourth, Adam Hancock fifth and Kayleigh Knight sixth all with 41 laps. A great conclusion to the evenings racing.

Many thanks to Courtney Orme at race control and everyone who helped set up and store away all the equipment.

A Paul Dewsnap track design this week.

Qualifying
Chelle Snowden was the top qualifier with a great drive in the third qualifying round to take pole position in the “A” Final. Karl Norris was second, Richard Norris third, Kayleigh Knight fourth, Benn Norris fifth, Adam Hancock sixth and Bob Harley seventh to complete the “A” Final line up.

Finals
First up was the “D” Final where Nick Wallace after having had problems with his car in qualifying was the winner, visiting driver Noah Valaggio took second place and Ian Craig was third.

The “C” Final was keenly contested with Paul Dewsnap took the win, (must have been a good track design!), Euan Lees was second and Saul Theobold third less than two seconds behind Euan.

Guy Rogers was the winner of the “B” Final with Dan Stones close behind in second place, Mike Simpson finished third.

Just the “A” final left to run, could Chelle Snowden capitalise on her pole position and win the race. Wow it was very close, a great race to watch this with Karl Norris winning just over a second ahead of Chelle, these two being a lap ahead of Richard Norris in third place and Benn Norris fourth. Bob Harley was fifth, Adam Hancock sixth and Kayleigh Knight seventh. Yes there were a lot of Norris’s in the race!

Thanks to everyone who helped put away the equipment at the end of the evening.
