A very competitive evenings racing on a fast track layout.

James Hart won the GT12 A Final with Mark Deacon taking second place and Steve Donald third.

The B Final winner was Gavin Maciver, Gary Oscroft second and Bob Harley was third.

Jordan Leavis was first across the finishing line in an exciting C Final, Karl Norris took second place with Mike Simpson third.

McKenzie Wallace was two laps clear of the rest of the field to win the D Final, Jack Walsh also had a good race to finish in second place. There was a tremendous battle for the remaining places between Kayleigh Knight, Benn Norris and Courtney Orme, they all finished on the same lap with Benn taking third place in his first trophy meeting at Burton – well done Benn!

Nathan Marshall was keen to win the Mardave Final and had a chance after pole position driver Paul Galbraith had a very slow lap 5, in the end he recovered to win, Nathan taking second, Alex Forster third and Harvey Forster fourth.

After the racing the trophies were presented by the club vice Chairman Chelle Snowden.

A great evening – back to the Summer League next week!

Oooops – was the table top curved!

22-08-17 August Clubnight

Qualifying
Mark Deacon had the fastest lap in the first round of qualifying heats but it was James Hart in first place, Mark second, Steve Donald third and Dan Sheppard fourth. In round two Mark was quickest again but could not improve on second place, David Hall moved up into third and Gavin Maciver fourth. In the last qualifying round James consolidated pole position in the A Final also having the quickest lap just 1/100th second faster than Mark, the order remaining unchanged with Steve Donald taking fifth place.

In the Club Mardave class Roy Matthews won round 1 but Joshua Galbraith won the remaining two rounds to claim pole position in the final ahead of his dad Paul, Roy was third and James Burford, driving a Nathan Marshall prepared car finished fourth.

Finals
In the Mardave final Joshua Galbraith had an impressive win, leaving Paul for dust to finish second (may be not such a good plan Josh), Roy was third and James fourth

Kayleigh Knight won the GT12 D Final after a great race with Jamie Hall, Courtney Orme was third.

Nick Wallace took the C final, Karl Norris was second and Bob Harris third.

Chelle Snowden was the B Final winner by the small margin of 0.2 Seconds over Andy Plimmer, Dan Sheppard finishing in third place.

In the A Final James Hart lapped everyone to win, there was a great race for the other places with the drivers being very evenly matched. At the finish gavin Maciver was second, Mark Deacon third, David Hall fourth and Steve Donald fifth – a great race to conclude the evening.

15-08-17 Superleague Round 4

A great evenings racing including a tremendous GT12 A Final won by James Hart from David Hall in second place, Gavin Maciver third and Mark Deacon fourth.

With four rounds of the superleague completed only two drivers James Hart and Mike Simpson have taken maximum points from all of the rounds.

Alex Forster leads the V12 Mardave F2 with three wins from 3, just 7 points ahead of Roy Matthews.

Jack Walsh leads the GT12 F3 with a 2 point lead over John Stringer, this looks like being a very close at the end of the year.

Steve Donald has a good lead in F2 with Daniel Lacey and Joran Leavis tied for second place.

James Hart has a commanding lead in F1 with Bob Harley, Mark Deacon and Chelle Snowden left to fight it out for the second and third places.

We look forward to a competitive remaining two rounds in October and December.

The Club Vice Chairman Chelle Snowden presented the Spring League trophies to the drivers unable to make the original presentation, congratulations to all the drivers including Roy Matthews the winner of the V12 Mardave F2 league.

NOTE NEXT WEEK WILL BE AN ORDINARY CLUBNIGHT with no league points at stake.

08-08-17 Summer league Round 5

James Hart qualified in first place, David Hall was second, Steve Donald third and Mark Deacon fourth.  Darren Ford, Gavin Maciver and Andy Plimmer completed the line up for the A Final.

Good results also for new members Carl Walton and Chris Metcalfe, both finishing ahead of John Stringer in F3,

Nathan Marshall was quickest after two rounds in the Club Mardave class with improved reliability of his car – was it due to his pit crew?, but he fell back into second place behind Mike Simpson after round 3 with Paul Galbraith third and Alex Forster fourth.

A win for Mike in the Mardave final after Nathan made a poor start from second place on the grid and had to fight his way back up the field to eventually finish in an excellent second place, ahead of Paul Galbraith and also critically F2 League leader Alex Forster, closing his lead in the league to just 5 points – we look forward to an exciting last three rounds!

Courtney Orme won an eventful GT12 D Final to retain his lead in F2, John Stringer was quickest on the track and took second place with Jack Walsh third.

In the C Final Dave Lumbis was a lap clear of everyone, Steve Gorey, Bob Harris and Richard Sherwin finishing second, third and fourth respectively.

Gary Oscroft had a great win in the B Final , Bob Harley was second, Dan Sheppard third and Jordan Leavis fourth.

Some fantastic driving in the A Final, the result was close between James Hart and David Hall, James being first across the finishing line. Andy Plimmer finished third after starting in seventh place on the grid, Mark Deacon was fourth and is now only 6 points behind the league leader in F2 – can he win promotion back into F1 ?

Next week is round 4 of the 2017 Superleague.

01-08-17 Summer League Round 4

Visiting driver David Hall was fastest qualifier in the GT12 class followed by Gavin Maciver, Steve Donald, Ashley King, Jason Crane, Darren Ford, Mark Deacon and Gary Oscroft all being a lap down on David.

David won an exciting A Final, Gavin Maciver took second place and Mark Deacon third just ahead of Ashley King.

The B Final was very close, Dan Sheppard winning by the small margin of 0.11seconds from Wayne Gorey, Chelle Snowden was third.

Matthew McAdam had a comfortable win in the C Final, Bob Harris was second and Richard Sherwin third.

In the D Final Jordan Leavis was the winner, Chris Metcalfe second and Paul Carter finished third.

In the Club Mardave class F1 Mike Simpson was top qualifier ahead of Paul Galbraith, the result was repeated in the final.
Alex Forster was best in F2 followed by his brother Harvey and again they finished in the same order in the final.

A great evening with a mix of both existing and new members plus visiting drivers.

25-07-17 Clubnight

The qualifying produced some close results, Louis Parker set the pace in the first round with James Hart in second place and Darren Ford returning after a short break in racing taking an excellent third.
In round 2 James moved into the top spot ahead of Louis with Gavin Maciver, Mark Deacon and Steve Donald a lap down.
Round 3 saw Steve Donald advance into third place overall, Louis being second and James Hart taking pole for the A Final.
In the club Mardave class Alex Forster was the leader after round 1 followed by Nathan Marshall and Harvey Forster. Things changed after round 2 with Nathan leading, Harvey second and Alex dropping down to third place. There were no changes to order in round 3 so it was Nathan who took pole for the final.

The first final was the Mardave class, this turned into one of the best races for some time with Nathan Marshall and Jordan Galbraith battling wheel to wheel for most of the race, at the finish it was Nathan who was first across the line just over a second ahead of Jordan. Alex Forster was third finishing ahead of his brother Harvey this week!

In the GT12 class Carl Walton won the D Final with spring league “most improved driver” John Stringer second and Isaac Donald third.
Bob Harley won the C Final a lap clear of Bob Harris and Karl Norris.
Club vice chairman Chelle Snowden had a great drive to win the B final and be third fastest overall, Darren Ford was second and Dan Sheppard third.
The A Final saw some very quick lap times with James Hart and Louis Parker both breaking 9 seconds, after a poor start it was James who came out on top, Louis taking second place and Steve Donald third. Good race!

After the track equipment was put away the Spring League trophies were presented by Chelle, well done to all the winners. Remember next week is round 4 of the summer league.

18-07-17 Summer league Round 3

Another good evenings racing, James Hart being the fastest qualifier in the GT12 class followed by Steve Donald and Bob Harley. The result was repeated in the A Final with Jordan Leavis taking a fine fourth place.

In the Club Mardave class Mike Simpson was top qualifier, Nathan Marshall was second and Harvey Forster third, just beating his brother Alex by 0.14 seconds.
In the Final Mike won, Alex was second, Harvey third and Nathan Fourth after the wheels came off!

11-07-17 Summer League Round 2

The second of eight rounds of the summer league.
Qualifying
Steve Donald made a good start to lead the qualifying in the GT12 class after the first round with James Hart in second place and Mark Deacon third. James took over the lead in the second round, Mark Deacon moved up into second spot and visiting driver David Hall third. In round three David moved ahead of Mark into second place, James taking pole position for the A Final.
Good performances in all three rounds from McKenzie Wallace made him the top F3 driver with John Stringer second and Jack Walsh third.

In the club Mardave class Mike Simpson was quickest but it was very close for the other places with Paul Galbraith taking second, Roy Matthews third and Alex Forster fourth and best in F2 just a few seconds apart.

Finals
In the Mardave final Mike was the winner with Paul taking second place. There was a tremendous battle for third place between Roy Matthews, Alex Forster and Harvey Forster. All three drivers finished on the same lap and it was Alex who was first across the finishing line to take third and best in F2 followed by Roy and then Harvey who recorded the fastest lap time of the three of them. Better watch out Alex, Harvey is getting quicker each week after your number 1 driver spot in “Team Forster”.

The GT12 C Final was won by John Stringer, Courtney Orme finished second, these two drivers being a lap up on Jack Walsh who finished in third place.

Bob Harley made a good start from pole position in the Gt12 B Final and had a good drive to win and set the best lap time, Nick Wallace took second place just over eight seconds down and visiting driver Paul Lison was third.

The last race of the evening provided plenty of entertainment with some excellent driving, the first four cars finishing only a few seconds apart.

James Hart started from pole position on the grid and Gavin Maciver in car 5 moved up from the back of the grid into second place behind James on the first lap followed by Mark Deacon, Steve Donald and David Hall.
James set a very fast pace and with all drivers lapping quickly Mark got past Gavin on lap 8 to move into second place and on lap 17 David started to move up the field into fourth place overtaking Steve Donald.
A big change of order on lap 22 with Gavin dropping down to the back of the field, the race order now being James, Mark, Steve, David, Gavin. The order remained until 2 laps from the end of the race when David moved into third place ahead of Steve.
A great race, James the winner, Mark second, David third, Steve fourth all on 38 laps and Gavin fifth place.

With two rounds completed only Mark Deacon and Mike Simpson have a 100% record scoring maximum points, can they win again next week?

04-07-17 Summer League Round 1

The first round of eight in the Summer League with a chance for drivers to score some early league points especially in the GT12 class with fewer drivers than normal racing this week.

Mark Deacon was the top qualifier in the GT12 class (not bad for a F2 Driver Mark!) ahead of Steve Donald and Bob Harley. Steve got his revenge in the A final with a fine win, Mark taking second place and Bob Harley third.
The B Final turned into a two driver race with Courtney Orme getting the upper hand over John Stringer.

In the club mardave class Mike Simpson was quickest with Joshua Galbraith second and Paul Galbraith taking third place. In the A final Jordan Galbraith made an excellent start and had a very close race with Mike who eventually got out of the “Galbraith Sandwich” and was first over the finishing line, Jordan being second and Joshua third.
In the B Final Nathan Marshall had an excellent win, Roy Matthews took second place and Harvey Forster was third just a few seconds behind – well done Harvey.

Five drivers making a great start scoring maximum points in the league divisions this week, can they maintain the momentum over the remaining rounds? Remember it is the best six from a possible eight round scores to count.

27-06-17 Superleague Round 3

The third round of the 2017 Superleague on a fast track layout produced some exciting racing especially in the Club Mardave class with ten cars on the track together.

Maximum points for drivers in all five leagues this week.
James Hart took maximum points in the GT12 class being fastest qualifier and winning the A final, with Steve Donald finishing in second place to also get 41 points in F2 (only F2 for the Superleague!)
John Stringer was best in F3 with yet another maximum.
Not to be outdone Mardave drivers Mike Simpson and Alex Forster repeated the performance on F1 and F2.
Visiting drivers took the first four places in the GT12 B Final, Wayne Gorey winning, Dan Sheppard taking second place, Karl Norris third and Dave Lumbis fourth.

Three more rounds to go in August, October and December with the best five to count.
