Saul Theobold was the winner of the “C” Final being four laps ahead of Euan Lees in second place with Adam Cowell being a further three laps down in third.

Karl Norris won the “A” final with 44 laps, Chelle Snowden took second place and Kayleigh Knight third, both with 42 laps. Benn Norris was the top F2 driver in fifth place.

League

With seven of the nine rounds completed we have the unusual situation that two drivers Karl Norris (F1) and Freddie Parker (F3) have scored the maximum 600 points and cannot beaten in their divisions. Benn Norris (F2) has two chances to achieve the same result in the remaining rounds.

Looking forward to some great racing in rounds 8 and 9.

11-01-22 Winter League Round 6

The first of four consecutive weeks that will complete the current Winter League.

Qualifying
Chelle Snowden made a good start to be the fastest qualifier after round 1 followed by Richard Norris and Simon Pole.
Simon Pole took over top place in round 2 with Nick Wallace moving up into second position ahead of Richard Norris in third.
More changes of position after round 3 with Simon Pole still being the top qualifier, Chelle Snowden moving up into second place, Nick Wallace third and Richard Norris fourth. The remaining A final places went to Dan Stones qualifying for an A Final for the first time and Bob Harley.

Finals
Euan Lees had a comfortable win in the “C” Final, being two laps clear of second place driver Adam Cowell. Caleb Jones was third and Ian Craig fourth.

In the “B” final Freddie Parker was on pole position on the grid and made a great start, going on to set the quickest lap in the race. However after an exciting race the eventual winner was Mike Simpson, Freddie was second an Adam Hancock third.

The “A” Final was keenly contested with Simon Pole winning with 40 laps, Richard Norris was second with 39, with Bob Harley, Nick Wallace and Dan Stones taking third, fourth an fifth places respectively on 38 laps. Chelle Snowden finished in sixth place with 37 laps. Well done Dan!

In the League Simon Pole now leads F1, Bob Harley is in second place and Nick Wallace third.
Dan Stones is the leader in F2, Mike Simpson is in second place and Benn Norris third.
Freddie Parker having won all of the six rounds is the F3 League champion – can he also win the remaining three rounds? Adam Cowell is in second place and Saul Theobold third.

Remember that with three rounds remaining and only the best six from a possible nine scores to count some of the present positions may be misleading !!!!

Next week is Round 7

14-12-21 Winter League Round 5

Some extremely close racing this week, the difference in best lap times between the majority of the drivers being small.

Qualifying
Karl Norris was top qualifier with 45 laps just two and a half seconds quicker than  Simon Pole.  Chelle Snowden was third with 44 Laps followed by Kayleigh Knight and McKenzie Wallace on 43 and Benn Norris, Dan Stones, Richard Norris and Bob Harley with 42.

Finals
Freddie Parker starting from pole position on the grid won the “C” Final with 40 laps, Adam Cowell was second and Mike Simpson third, both drivers on 39 laps. It was good to see Paul Galbraith racing again at the Club.

The “B” Final was a tremendous race to watch, Benn Norris lead the cars away from pole position. Unfortunately Nick Wallace had to retire his car after the first lap leaving the remaining four drivers to battle it out. Fast and consistent driving from all the drivers throughout the rest of the race resulted in just six seconds separating all of them at the finish. Benn was the winner, Bob Harley second, Dan Stones third and Richard Norris fourth.

Just the “A” Final remaining and it did not disappoint. Karl Norris won the race, Simon Pole was a lap down in second with Chelle Snowden, Kayleigh Knight and McKenzie Wallace finishing third, fourth and fifth respectively just four seconds between them. A superb end to the evenings racing. Well done McKenzie!

With five rounds of the league now completed two drivers are still unbeaten, Karl Norris in F1 and Freddie Parker in F3 both scoring the maximum 500 points with Benn Norris just a single point down with 499 in F2 following McKenzie’s 100 points this week.  Just four rounds left to race and with the best six from a possible nine round scores to count we could still see some very close final results.

Next week is the Christmas trophy meeting, don’t forget to pre-book as usual.

Winter League Round 4

Qualifying
A track design similar to the previous week, Karl Norris again being the top qualifier and for the third consecutive week all of the “Team Norris” drivers made the “A” Final. Finals
Saul Theobold won a keenly contested “C” Final with Euan Lees in second place just over two seconds adrift. Visiting driver Jack Southin was third.

Bob Harley was the winner of the “B” Final, Dan Stones was second and Freddie Parker continued his run of good form to take third place.

The last race of the evening, the “A” Final was won by Karl Norris being a lap ahead of second place driver Simon Pole, Kayleigh Knight was third, Chelle Snowden fourth, Benn Norris fifth and McKenzie Wallace sixth.

Another exciting evenings racing – Round 5 of the Winter League is next week.

All “Team Norris” were in the “A” Final for the second consecutive week, this time joined by Simon Pole and “Team Wallace”.

Good performances also from Freddie Parker and Adam Cowell to both make the “B” Final.

Dan Stones won the “C” Final with Mike Simpson finishing second and Saul Theobold taking third place.

Chelle Snowden was the winner of the “B” Final, Bob Harley was second and Freddie Parker third.

The last race of the evening saw “Team Norris” trying to achieve a repeat of last weeks 1st, 2nd and 3rd place result. It was close with Karl Norris winning, Kayleigh Knight finishing third and Benn Norris fourth. Simon Pole was second, McKenzie Wallace took fifth place with an excellent drive and Nick Wallace was sixth.
