AGM 2025

BURTON BUGGY CLUB

Minutes of Annual General Meeting held on Tuesday 25th November 2025

The Club Chairperson Chelle Snowden opened the meeting and thanked everyone present for attending this year’s AGM.

Chairpersons report

It’s good to see Bob Harley back at the track after his operation.

It has been another great year for the club; we have on average seen 21 drivers racing each week with a maximum number of 29.

This year we had a team race which was enjoyed by all, we planning to do more in the future.

On club nights it has been nice to see the more advanced drivers helping others with the setups on their cars.

Recently we have been using the same track design for three consecutive weeks, this gives each driver the opportunity to improve their driving techniques.

I know this has been mentioned many times before but marshalling is still an issue. If you race you must marshal unless you have a valid reason which race control must be informed about.

Please marshal at the marked marshalling points which are placed around the track and stand if you are able while marshalling. Your full attention must be on the track, no talking to other drivers or being on your mobile.  Drivers should not shout at the marshals; they will get to your car when it is safe to do so.

I would like to remind you all that we must “race with respect,” like all BRCA affiliated clubs we have to obey their rules.

We have introduced a newsletter that will Lacey has kindly put together. I would like to say thank you from the club for his time doing this and may he continue this for us next year.

I would also like to thank the committee members and those who help build the track, without which we would not be ready on time to race. But we still need help with putting the track and equipment away as we need to be out of the building by 10pm.

Thank you for letting me be your Chairperson for this year and hope to be your Chair person again in the future.

Proposals

Proposer Will Lacey Seconer Richard Johnston

At the moment we only have three season’s leagues, for some reason no Autumn.

Some people have said to me we have too many qualifying weeks. Would it be possible to have four seasons, each with eight race meetings with the five best rounds to count. This would mean an extra set of trophies, but just awarding first and second place trophies would be little difference in cost if any.

The proposal was discussed, a vote taken and the proposal adopted.

Proposer E Carter Seconder Josh Flanagan

Run cars with no reverse – safer for cars and less crashes

The proposal was discussed; reverse is not allowed to be used in National events and at most clubs. It is generally thought to improve driving standards.

A vote was taken and the proposal adopted.

Initially driving will be closely monitored, particularly in heats one and two. Drivers still using reverse and not meeting the required standard will need to disable their cars reverse feature. It is also very important that all drivers marshal to a high standard at one of the designated marshalling positions.

If reverse is still being used on a regular basis, then the rule will be implemented from January 1st 2026.

AOB – None

Date of next AGM Tuesday 24th November 2026
